Blade Point Makoto Japanese katanas use 1045 carbon steel to forge its blades so that they withstand impacts. The blade is forged using heat tempered method. The point is very sharp, designed to pierce objects.  Blade Body The edge of Makoto Japanese katanas are hand sharpened. They are practical – can be used to slice through objects – and it is great for daily practices. The standard katana’s blade length is 32 inches  Tsuba Minamoto theme tsuba with copper finish. Scabbard Matt finish black color wooden scabbard, with matching koiguchi (scabbard mouth) in copper color. Handle The katana is full tang. Picture shows the samegawa and mekugi on handle.
