The Dragon is stained to give a slightly weathered look to the black ebony stain while finished smooth with 2 coats of durable clear coat. Notice the lovely marbling in the wood grain on edges. This Dragon Puzzle consists of 15 puzzle pieces and is free standing. Perfect for a hardwood toy gift, Home Decor, conversation piece or a unique gift. This Puzzle is made from a solid piece of Birch hardwood 7/8″ or 2.22 cm thick. I cut by hand on a scroll saw, each piece is then sanded and then finished by hand by either brush or hand rubbed depending on the desired color. Finished with penetrating stain and 2 coats of Semi Gloss Polyurethane for durability. Time and care is taken to search for interesting grains not only in lumber stock but in individual pieces cut for specific items. All my lumber is hand picked from a Local Hardwood Specialty Company not a big box store and not leftovers this is all newly purchased lumber for this specific purpose. All my items are hand cut by scroll saw I Never use CNC machines or Lazer cutting.
