The Coffee Sock Drip Stand was our very first design. Crafted out of necessity this set uses a brew process that is one of the easiest and least expensive ways to make great coffee. The coffee sock has many names: dirty sock, tit bag, chorreadores with bolsitas. Typically made from wood, chorreadores consists of a stand which holds an elongated cotton bolsita (little bag). The word chorreador is related to the Spanish verb chorrear, meaning to drip or trickle. Using a coffee sock is one of the simplest ways to make coffee. Dampen the sock and place it in the drip stand. Start with one tablespoon of medium to fine ground coffee to 6 oz of hot water. Pour hot water (we recommend 195-205 degrees F) through the sock, just to wet the grounds and activate your coffee. Wait for 30 seconds then pour hot water over the grounds and watch your coffee stream. Adjusting the flow rate of the water and the amount of ground coffee results in an amazing experience, customized to your particular taste.
